In 1998, a plastic surgeon visiting Hull suggested that a small team fly out to help operate on children in Pakistan with facial abnormalities. The visit was a great success and since then teams have continued to return to Pakistan to operate.

For the last seven years, we have visited Gujrat in Pakistan twice a year. On each visit we have operated on more than 120 children and adults in just seven days. In 2010 we also visited Kerala in India to set up a surgery camp and plan to visit again soon.

OPSA has grown over the years and word of mouth has created a larger demand for our services. Families bring their children from all over Pakistan to the hospital, knowing that they would not be able to afford this life-changing surgery for their children were it not for the free medical care that OPSA provides. Because of the need, we now visit Pakistan twice a year.

Our work is so important to the people who have these disfigurements but, of course, what we do relies on raising funds for each trip. Every donation makes our trips more and more possible and we are grateful for every penny we receive.
