I have exceptional fond memories of Nick walking the Anlaby Spire hallways having a lovely welcoming smile for everyone whom he passed by. He removed a benign cyst from my leg many years ago and this now allows me to feel that connection to his vast experience after his passing. He changed the life of a vast number of people around the world both young and old with his skilful hands and I am in no doubt that they will be ever grateful for his help. I will be forever grateful for his work and he will be fondly missed.

He was kind, caring and very professional. He took our fears away just by being honest and talking to us. My thoughts are with his family, may he rest peacefully.

I was a specialist nurse in Hull hospitals I had a melanoma which was a huge shock but Mr Hart saved my life. He operated and the scar is extensive. He described it as his mark of zorro I also had a small lesion on my face which required surgery on more than one occasion. It was a worrying time but he was so reassuring and fortunately I have survived for many years. I had been thinking about all this recently and wondered if he was still working. I would love to have been able to thank him but sadly I have missed the opportunity. I hope his work will always be a appreciated both here and abroad. I send my sympathy to all family. Rest in peace.

As a former long retired NHS colleague of Nick, I am saddened to hear of his passing and send my deepest sympathy to Shirley and family. Nick was a talent, reliable, hard working surgeon much appreciated by all that worked with him. His bagpipes also drew many an appreciated comment.

Mr Hart will be remembered as my kind surgeon who operated on me multiple times over the years due to Gorlin syndrome. He made coping with my incurable disease much more bearable, especially having music on in the background during theatre time! I wear my scars with pride and am so grateful to have been under the care of such a kind, compassionate, smiley surgeon. Thank you Mr Hart. My condolences to all who loved him x
